To get the right ones you need to measure the diameter and depth of the drum of your hub. For example it measured 10" x 2-1/4" you would need the Electric Trailer Brakes - 3.5K # TRU36FR.

In order to add brakes to your tow dolly you'd first need to have a brake flange for the brake assembly to mount to. If you remove the wheel you'll be able to see the if there's a brake flange, like you can see on part # TRU74FR, or not. If not, you can get them welded onto the axle but the cost typically exceeds the cost of just replacing an axle because the weld has to be so precise.

Personally I wouldn't go with Timbren's for your needs. They're essentially rubber bump stops that prevent your suspension from flexing when weights placed on the rear of your Canyon. The major issue with them is comfortability when you are not towing your trailer. These significantly affect the range of your suspension which can leave you with a stiff rigid feeling in the rear end. Plus if you hit a bump while there's weight on them they tend to bounce.

When replacing trailer brakes there's a few things to check to figure out the correct replacement. The first thing I start with usually is the axle capacity. If you can find the axle tag sticker on the axle tube we can use the information on it to determine the capacity. If the axle tag is gone then you can also just measure the hub/drum assembly like I have pictured below. If your car trailer was built on mobile home axles you are going to have to replace the axles as there aren't braking components that will be made to fit them. The Fastway e2 Weight Distribution w/ 2-Point Sway Control # FA92-00-0450 has a tongue weight range of 200lbs - 450lbs so you'd be right around the middle of the capacity when loaded, making this a great choice. I googled the grease seal number you mentioned and I did find some options online but when I looked up the size it wasn't one that we carry a suitable replacement for.

So unfortunately mobile home axles can't be changed out to to different hubs and brakes as they are designed as a single-use axle (getting the mobile home from point A to point B). Meaning they don't have standard spindles for different hubs and drums. You can still get a 6- or 8-lug hub and drum, but you'd have to replace the axle.

We sure do! The etrailer Electric Trailer Brakes item # AKEBRK-35 work with 3,500 lbs axles that have a 4 bolt mounting flange. These left and right 10" x 2-1/4" assemblies have rust-resistant, e-coated backing plates that work with 15" wheels.

I wouldn't worry about adding anything to the front. The only reason you would want to add the Coil SumoSprings item # CSS-1125 to the front of your 2018 Crosstrek is if you had a front hitch or weight pushing down directly on your front axle.

Eddie, it sounds like you're looking for the Dexter Trailer Axle w/ Electric Brakes # 35545E-ST-EZ-89. This is a 3.5K Dexter axle that has E-Z Lube spindles, with a 5 on 4 1/2" bolt pattern.

That was enough information right there. If it is welded to the axle a modern replacement won't work. Unless you can find parts at a scrap yard you won't be able to get replacement parts for those brakes to rebuild them either. You will need to replace the axle like I mentioned before.

Hey William, I am sorry to say that we do not offer an axle with those exact dimensions. Our closes option is the Trailer Axle Beam # e33GR. This axle is rated for 5,200 lbs and has a hub face to hub face (HF) measurement of 86-1/2".
